Broxbourne Community spirit shone as bright as the sun at Open Day
The sun came out and so did the community at Broxbourne Council’s Open Day on Saturday 7 July.
Hundreds of people who visited the annual event at the local authority’s Bishops’ College offices in Cheshunt were treated to a display of classic vehicles, an inflatable fun fair and live music.
As well as Council services, sports clubs, hobby groups, amateur dramatic and dance troupes, charity workers, local community groups and members of our emergency services took up pitches in the grounds to share their work with residents.
The Mayor, Councillor Carol Crump, said: “It’s always a fantastic event but this year was extra special because it took place during our Year of Community. There was a real sense of ‘togetherness’ in the air and I’d like to thank everyone who joined us and helped to make the day a huge success.”
The Council’s mascot, Bob the badger, also toured the grounds to discover the plethora of attractions and to take photographs with families.
