British tourist attacked by fellow Britons in Cyprus

A 21 year old tourist is under arrest in  connection with an assault in Ayia Napa which led to the serious injury of another early on Sunday.

Police said a 24 year old tourist was  taken to Famagusta General Hospital with head injuries. He was transferred to Nicosia Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is in intensive care.

Police investigators said he had been assaulted as he returned to his hotel early on Sunday morning. Acting on information, police arrested the 21 year old a little after midnight and on Monday A 24 year old British tourist was also arrested and is expected to appear in court for a remand today Tuesday following an assault and injury of a 24 year British tourist in Ayia Napa early on Sunday.

Monday’s arrest was the second in connection with the same case. Just after midnight on Sunday police arrested a 21 year old British tourist who named the  24 year old.
