Praise for Haringey School Tiverton Primary in ‘Good’ OFSTED rating

Exciting learning opportunities, mutual respect and diligent pupils have been singled out in a glowing OFSTED report for Haringey’s Tiverton Primary School.

Rating the school as ‘Good’, inspectors praised staff for being alert to children’s needs and providing effective support. The report said that leaders have improved all aspects of the school since their last visit and pupils received a good education.

It added: “Leaders have created a strong culture of mutual respect and hard work. Pupils work diligently, get on very well with each other in this diverse community and behave calmly and sensibly.”

Inspectors also highlighted:

  • Outstanding work to promote pupils personal development and welfare
  • A broad range of enrichment activities, including visits from a science professor and trips to places of worship, museums and galleries
  • Governors who bring a range of expertise to their work

The school, in Pulford Road, Tottenham, was visited by inspectors in May.

Headteacher Resham Mirza said: “We are delighted at this recognition from Ofsted of the hard work, dedication and resilience of the staff, pupils, families and governors that form the Tiverton community. We will build on our success so that we can continue to provide an enriched, stimulating learning environment in which our pupils can reach their best potential.”

Haringey Council Cabinet Member for Children and Families Cllr Elin Weston said: “This is fantastic news for Tiverton and their community and testament to the hard work of staff, governors and pupils who all contribute to the happy and enriching environment at Tiverton. The praise in this report is thoroughly deserved.”
