A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed in Oakwood.

Police were called to Barnet Hospital at 19:30hrs on Tuesday, 2 May, to reports that a man had self-presented at the hospital, suffering stab injuries.

The 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at 20:23hrs that evening.

Next of kin have been informed. Formal identification is yet to take place. A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

At this early stage, officers believe the victim was stabbed in The Fairway near the junction with Masefield Crescent, N14.
