Achilleos finished second behind Argenina`s Federico Gil who claimed top honours. The Bronze medal went to the 2014 ISSF World Champion Alexander Zemlin of the Russian Federation.

After scoring a 122/125 in the qualifying round, Achilleos scored 55/60 in the final finishing behind Gil who scored 56 clay targets. Zemlin finished his match with 44 targets.

Yesterday`s silver was the first medal for Achilleos after nearly two years following a silver medal in the European Championships of 2015.

“I had a great match and I am thrilled that at last I returned to the podium. I cannot describe my feelings. My effort was tough after the misfortunes of the last two years and feel a great relieve,” Achilleos said.
