Police say two men broke into the clubhouse of Omonia in the early hours of Tuesday and stole over 30 trophies belonging to the popular Nicosia sports club.

The report of the break-in came at 4am from the clubhouse which is situated close to Kennedy Avenue in central Nicosia. Witnesses say they saw two men, wearing hoods and dark clothing, break into the building. They were heard speaking a language that wasn’t Greek or English.

Club officials later confirmed that 34 trophies had been stolen.
