Three men have been sentenced in relation to an assault in Cheshunt.

The incident occurred at O’Shea’s public house on Turners Hill on December 13, 2015.

A group of men attacked a 33 year old man who received an eye injury after he was hit with a glass. He was later treated at North Middlesex Hospital where he received stitches to his eyelid.

Then on March 4, 2016, the victim and his wife were approached in Lynton Parade, Waltham Cross, by the same men who were verbally abusive and threatening.

Abraham French, 18, Ryan McNamara, 22 and Ronnie McNamara, 23, all from Darcy Close, Cheshunt, were found guilty of GBH. Ronnie and Ryan McNamara were also found guilty of two counts of witness intimidation.

They were sentenced on March 17 at St Albans Crown Court, French received two years and Ronnie and Ryan McNamara both received two years nine months in prison.

Chief Inspector for Broxbourne, Ian Butler, said: “This was an unprovoked attack which left the victim needing hospital treatment and could have meant life changing injuries.

“This sentencing will demonstrate that any instance of alcohol related assaults on our streets will be positively investigated and offenders brought to justice.

“When we receive information that links disorder to licenced premises my Community Safety Unit and specialist licencing officer will proactively work with licensees to deal with any issues of safety for customers and residents.“
