President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades leaves Sunday for Madrid, Spain, where he will participate in the Summit of the seven Southern European Union countries that will take place on 10 April, a press release of the Press and Information Office said.
On April 10, on the sidelines of the Summit, the President of the Republic will meet separately with the Prime Minister of Spain Mariano Rajoy at the Prime Minister’s Office, the press release said.
It added that later on, the President will attend a working lunch with the other leaders of the southern EU member states at the Palacio Real del Pardo.
The leaders will make remarks to the media after the lunch.
Brexit and the Future of Europe will be among the issues that will be discussed at the Summit, the press release said.
During the deliberations of the Summit Anastasiades will brief the leaders on the latest developments on the Cyprus problem.
He will be accompanied in Madrid by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides and the Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides.
The President will return to Cyprus on April 11.
