A man who stabbed his cousin in an unprovoked attack in October last year at his home in Wembley has pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
Mosa Abid, 20 (19.12.96) unemployed of Dehavilland Close pleaded guilty on Monday, 24 April at the Old Bailey.
He will be sentenced at the same court on Friday, 2 June.
Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) at around 13:35hrs on 15 October 2016 to reports of a stabbing at an address on Buddings Circle in Wembley.
Officers, the LAS and London’s Air Ambulance attended and found 18-year-old Moamen Settar with stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 14:00hrs.
A post-mortem examination held on 16 October 2016, gave cause of death as stab wounds.
Moamen’s cousin Abid had visited the address that afternoon and had armed himself with a knife, entering Moamen’s room and stabbing him
Having committed the attack, Abid fled the address; he was arrested later that day.
Detective Chief Andy Chalmers, from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: “This was a completely unprovoked assault and we have still not understood why Abid chose to kill his cousin.
“Abid has severe psychiatric issues which were a significant factor in Moamen’s life being taken in such a tragic way. Our thoughts and sympathies are with Moamen’s family at this very difficult time.”
