First Division

KLN 0 Omonia 2

Omonia with this win has kept them safely in the First Division and with the appointment lof Chris Andreou as manager and Petro and Robbie has his assistants has put them on a new level and we can see great progress in the future.

A great game with Tony Incenzo the talkSPORT and Sky presenter at the game helping to take the KOPA League to a new level.

Both teams played entertaining football and seem to be containing each other an injury left KLN with ten players in the latter stages Omonia nver scored  until the 80th minute when a great diagonal cross from the left from Adam Andreou  and Chris Philippou was there with a perfect header from 10 yards out.

Then with literally last kick of the game following a KLN corner with their keeper pushing up , Omonia counter attacked and Chris Philippou  on the right side from35 yards out and with great technique knocked the ball over the KLN keeper who was trying to get back following his team’s corner.

Arachne 1 New Salamis 3

New Salamis after their shock defeat last week versus Omonia got back to their winning ways by beating  Arachne 3-1 who are still trying to avoid the drop.

The goal hero for New Salamis was Murat who scored a hat trick the red’s were winning 1-0 when Arachne had the chance to equalise with a penalty but Ant Panayi missed and went into the half time break 1-0 down.

New Salamis moved on and scored two goals with Murat before Archne scored late with John Holmes to end the match with New Salamis 3-1 victors.

Second Division

Pantel 0 Apoel 3

Second division champions and Runners up Apoel versus Pantel respectively but Apoel came out trumps in this top of the table second division match.

Apoel’s three goals came from Vincent Lwanga 2 andone from Alex Loukas.

Asha 0 Maronites 7

Asha have really fallen to the wayside in recent week’s while Maronites have improved.

This is a convincing win for Maronites and its sad they left it late to start winning games because on this form they could have been fighting for promotion.

Maronites goals came from Franchi Michael, Dino Costa, Lewis Barclay 2, Tyler Barclay.

FA Sunday Trophy

Final

Livadia 1 Sporting Continental 0

A great win for the KOPA League team Livadia that now puts them on the LFA map by winning their first County cup in front of several fans who turned up on Sunday in the glorious sunshine at the Silver Jubilee stadium in Hendon.

Livadia had no easy task both teams found it difficult to settle but Livadia were the more threatening of the both teams even although Sporting had their own chances it took till the 39th minute when a free kick came across goal and Demetri Anastasiou was there to jump high above a host of crowded players to head home into an empty net.

The second half saw Livadia hold out strong against a flurry of Sporting attacks but Livadia were still dangerous on the counter attack finishing the game to a great standing ovation for both sides.

The Cups and medals were presented to the winners and finalists by Socrates Socratous a member of the LFA Committee and a former member of the KOPA League committee too.
