Officers investigating a road traffic collision in South Mimms are appealing for information and witnesses.
The collision happened at around 5.50pm on Monday, March 27 along St Albans Road.
Five vehicles were involved when, for reasons unknown at this stage, a silver Nissan Note was involved in a collision with a red Toyota Yaris, which was travelling in the opposite direction.
A further three vehicles – a white Mercedes E220, a black Ford C-MAX and another vehicle, which has not yet been identified – were then involved in the collision.
The unidentified vehicle collided with the rear of the black Ford C-Max and failed to stop at the scene.
PC Dale Morris, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, said: “Two people were taken to hospital with injuries following this collision.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to get in touch and, in particular, I would like to hear from anyone who believes they can help us to identify the vehicle and the driver that failed to stop at the scene.
“Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 705 of March 27.
