A number of people have been arrested following a disturbance in Islington.

Police were called to Arbon Court, Linton Street, N1, at approximately 19:30hrs on Thursday, 30 March to reports of a disturbance at an address.

Officers attended and attempted to arrest a man at the scene.

The officers were then surrounded by a group of people. Further units were called to the scene to help control the disturbance.

During the incident, some officers were assaulted although none were injured.

CS spray was deployed.

Six people – no further details – were arrested, including the man police initially attended to arrest, for a variety of offences including public order and assault. They remain in custody.

There were no reports of any other injuries.

Officers from the Central North Command continue to investigate the circumstances.
