The mother of a man who was sexually abused in a station toilet has urged anyone with information to come forward.

In December last year, we appealed for help in identifying a man wanted in connection with the sexual assault at Charing Cross.

At around 8.15pm on Saturday 10 December, the victim – a 25-year-old man with Down’s Syndrome – visited the toilets. Whilst there, a man touched him inappropriately and exposed himself.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Donna Fox, said: “This was a very scary experience for the victim whose vulnerabilities were exploited by the perpetrator. I would like to commend him for his bravery in reporting this offence to police.

“I’d like to hear from anyone who recognises this man or who may have noticed a man acting suspiciously in or near the men’s toilets at Charing Cross on this evening. If you are ever a victim of sexual assault, please report it to us so we can trace and stop these perpetrators.”

The mother of the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said: “This was a very traumatic experience for my son who continues to relive what happened. I feel like this man saw my son as an easy target and I urge anyone who might know who he is to get in touch as soon as you can.

“If it helps to jog anyone’s memory, my son is around 5-2ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing a black coat and hooded top.

“You may have seen him near the toilets at the station or seen the offender speaking with him and not thought anything of it, but I would urge you to think again if you were in the station that day and please come forward if you remember any detail that could help with the police investigation.”
