A man has been charged with the murder of a child in Finsbury Park.

Bidhya Sagar Das, 33, (31.12.83) of Wilberforce Road, N4 was charged on Tuesday, 21 March, with the murder of a one-year-old boy and attempted murder of a one-year-old girl on Saturday, 18 March.

He will appear in custody later today, Tuesday 21 March at Thames Magistrates’ Court.

A post-mortem examination in relation to the boy is due to take place today at a central London hospital. Formal identification awaits.

The girl remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command led by Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams continue to investigate.
