The President of the Republic’s statement that he doesn’t believe that another move will be made other than the ones made, in reply to a question as to whether he was intending to make some move to break the deadlock in the talks, appears like a statement signaling the abandonment of any effort.

We acknowledge the difficulties that exist in the effort to resume the dialogue. At the same time we are aware of the danger that is lurking from the apparent deadlock turning into a complete collapse of the talks with unforeseeable consequences. We therefore urge the President of the Republic to avoid any absolute positions and to continue, without regressions and with steadfastness, the difficult effort for the resumption of the dialogue.

AKEL is constantly taking actions, both within and outside Cyprus, in this direction. It’s a shame some other circles and forces, instead of thinking about the future generations are only thinking about the next elections.
