Detectives investigating a collision in Islington have charged four people.

At 23:00hrs on Saturday, 25 March, a vehicle collided with four people outside a pub in Essex Road, N1. The occupants of the car made off from the scene and four people [A, B, C and D] were arrested nearby.

A fifth person, a youth aged 15, was arrested the next day in connection with the investigation at an address in Islington.

On Monday, 27 March, four people were charged with aggravated vehicle taking.

Those charged included three youths, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Those charged are:

[A] A 17-year-old-youth from Highbury

[B] A 17-year-old-youth from Ilford, Essex

[D] Malique Howe – 19 (13.01.98) of Derby Hill Crescent, SE23

[E ] The 15-year-old youth who was arrested on Sunday, 26 March.

All four will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 28 March

Enquires into the robbery continue.

[C] A 17-year-old-youth from Islington has been bailed to return on a date in early May.

= Three people – two women and one man – were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries. One of the injured parties has since been discharged; the others remain in hospital; however their injuries are not being treated as life threatening.
