The first estimate for Cyprus’ exports of goods to the rest of the world in January 2017 was €0.2 billion, an increase of  47% since January 2016, according to Εurostat. The intra EU trade stood at €0.1 billion or a decrease of -3%.Extra EU trade also stood at €0.1 or an increase of 96%.

Imports totaled a €0.5 billion increase by 45%,  of which €0.3 billion  or increase of 20% was from the EU and a €0.2 billion or 122% increase from the rest of the world. That constitutes a total negative trade balance of €-0.3 billion,  €-0.2 with the EU and  €-0.1 with the rest of the world.

For the euro area (EA19) exports of goods to the rest of the world in January 2017 was €163.9 billion, an increase of 13% compared with January 2016 (€144.9 bn), recording a €0.6 bn deficit in trade in goods with the rest of the world in January 2017, compared with a surplus of €4.8 bn in January 2016.

The first estimate for extra-EU28 exports of goods in January 2017 was €141.2 billion, up by 16% compared with January 2016 (€121.4 bn). Imports from the rest of the world stood at €157.4 bn, up by 18% compared with January 2016 (€133.5 bn). As a result, the EU28 recorded a €16.2 bn deficit in trade in goods with the rest of the world in January 2017, compared with -€12.1 bn in January 2016. Intra-EU28 trade rose to €262.4 bn in January 2017, +10% compared with January 2016.
