Merkel, Tusk and Juncker pledged to actively support the Cyprus issue resolution

German Chancellor Angela Merkel , the President of the European Council  Donald Tusk and the European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker pledged their active support to the resolution of the Cyprus issue, during a series of meetings with President Nicos Anastasiades, in the margins of the EPP Summit in Luxemburg.

The President, briefed the two EU officials and the Chancellor in detail, during three private meetings, on the state of the settlement discussions, the progress achieved and the difficulties persisting.

According to sources informing CNA, the debate also revolved around the general aspects of the Euro – Turkish relations and the complications that they have with the refugees issue . The President reminded interlocutors of the standing Cypriot positions on all these issues and their response has been positive.
