Cypriot Mrs Edmee Pistis Leventis has been awarded an OBE (Officer of the British Empire) in the New Year Honours list for services to Arts Philanthropy.

According to the book Greek Cypriots Worldwide, A directory of Who’s Who Mrs Edmee Pistis Leventis was born in Paphos in 1945 and was married to the late Constantine Leventis,  she has three children and was educated at the Pancyprian University in Nicosia and then University of Rome La Sapienza where she obtained an MA in Political Science.

Mrs Leventis is a full time voluntary worker and was the former chair and present member of the board of governors at the Hellenic College. She was also the former chair of the executive board of the Hellenic Trust. Mrs Leventis is also Ambassador and  Permanent Delegate of Cyprus  to UNESCO.
