A 44-year-old British woman whose body was found near a church in Limassol on Tuesday died after choking on a piece of cake, police believe.
According to the results of the autopsy released on Wednesday, the victim appears to have died from asphyxiation after a piece of cake she was eating became logged in her throat.
The mother-of-five who is married to a Cypriot and permanently resides on the island was found outside a church in the Mouttayiaka area on Tuesday morning by an Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) official who was conducting an energy metre reading.
A piece of the cake that the woman appears to have chocked to death on was found at the scene. Cyprus Weekly
