A 56-year-old British tourist has been hospitalised after being struck by lighting during a storm in Paphos on Friday morning. According to the police, Stuart Halls had just walked out of a hotel apartment complex in the Achelia area during heavy rain when he was struck by lightning at 11.37am. Deputy Head of Paphos General Hospital Marios Philippou said the Briton was admitted to the emergency department and later transferred to the intensive care unit. “His condition is now stable,” added Philippou.
