President Nicos Anastasiades leaves Monday for Germany on a four-day official visit, during which he will meet with Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The President will be accompanied by the Minister of Finance, Harris Georgiades, the Minister of Communications and Works, Marios Demetriades, and the Government Spokesman, Nicos Christodoulides.

On 6 May, in Berlin, the President will meet with Chancellor Merkel with whom he will have a working lunch, and later on they will give a joint press conference, an official press release, issued here today, says.

The following day, he will meet the President of the Bundestag (the German Federal Parliament) Norbert Lammert and address an event organized by the think-tank Deutsche Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik e.V.

In the evening of 7 May, the President will depart for Hamburg where the next morning he will meet with the President of the Senate of Hamburg, Mayor Olaf Scholz.  Later that day, the President will address a working lunch hosted by the Shipping Chambers of Hamburg and Cyprus.

On the sidelines of the President’s visit, the Minister of Finance will meet on 6 May with his German counterpart, Wolfgang Schäuble. The Minister of Communications and Works will be accompanying the President during his meetings in Hamburg.

The President and the Cypriot delegation will depart for Cyprus in the evening of 8 May.
