Singer Peter Andre has met young patients and their families at a children’s therapy centre in his home town.

The star paid a visit to the Advance Centre in East Grinstead, which provides a therapy known as The Scotson Technique to children with cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions.

Peter visited the centre as an ambassador for the charity Caudwell Children, which provides funding for some of the children to receive treatment.

He said: “It is wonderful to have such an important facility here in East Grinstead and I’m delighted that Caudwell Children is supporting the children who come here.

“The work they are doing here is changing the lives of children with a wide range of disabilities and I’m proud to have met some of them here today.”

The Scotson Technique is designed to help children with neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy and autism. It focuses on the impact of breathing on the blood flow to the brain and the rest of the body.

It was developed more than 30 years ago by East Grinstead resident Linda Scotson, initially to help treat her son Doran who has cerebral palsy.

Linda said: “It was fantastic for the team and some of our patients to meet Peter and explain how the therapy has helped them.

“We are incredibly grateful to Caudwell Children for their support and hope that we can raise more awareness and local support for the Advance Centre.”
