A 53-year-old man was on Friday sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty by the Limassol Criminal Court of raping his teenage daughter.
A police investigation was launched in January after the 18-year-old victim reported to the authorities that her estranged father drove her to a remote area in the Fassouri area and sexually assaulted her.
The 53-year-old went on the run after the allegations were raised and was arrested by police a week later.
The trial heard that the defendant served time in the past for attempted rape and burglary.
