Limassol hospital treats injured Russian crew

Cyprus’ Search & Rescue Center has successfully completed a rescue operation on Tuesday morning, transporting an injured crew member of a Russian warship, off the coast of Limassol.

According to an official press release issue here today, after having received at 07.30 hrs relevant information and a request from the Russian Embassy in Nicosia, the Center planned and coordinated the rescue operation.

The crew member had suffered a severe head injury and his immediate transportation to a hospital was necessary.

The injured crew member was airlifted by helicopter and transported to Limassol General Hospital by 08.40 hrs. His condition is serious.
