Fatal car crash in Limassol this morning

A Russian woman was killed in the early hours of Wednesday morning after she was involved in a car crash in the Limassol village of Pissouri.
According to police, the crash took place at around 1am on Paphos Road just shy of Pissouri police station. Investigators said that the 39-year-old woman, who was passenger in the vehicle, and the 27-year-old driver were trapped in the wreckage and that the Fire Services were called to free them. Both were taken to Limassol General Hospital where the woman succumbed to her injuries at around 3am.
Doctors also said that the driver of the car, said to be a Greek Pontian, suffered serious injuries but that his condition is not life-threatening.
It is believed that the driver of the car lost control of the car before slamming into a lorry that was parked on the side of the road.
Pissouri police are still investigating.
