Anorthosis through to KOPA Challenge Cup Semi Final

KOPA Challenge Cup

Quarter Final

Cetikaya Cinar 1 Anorthosis 2

What an exciting game we had last night at Southbury Leisure Centre last night we had the fans out out in hundreds the drums and the flares too. The game was between  first division Cetinkaya Cinar who  have now been relegated and  newly promoted second division Anorthosis.

Cetinkaya Cinar started the game full steam creating several chances but were very poor finishing when it came to the crunch and in they end they paid the price for missing so many easy chances.

Anorthosis had a couple of good chances which fell to Alex Roussis and he was not able to put them away.

Eventually the goal came when Selcuk with the help of a deflection scored for Cetinkaya Cinar and into the break they went 1-0 up.

Even more drama in the second half when a penalty was awarded to Anorthosis and the Cetinkaya Cinar goal keeper Remzi pulled off a great save from Anorthosis Alex Roussis spot kick. When Anorthosis substitute super striker Danny Coolridge came on it changed the game it seemed to motivate his team and there was an immediate reaction with Anorthosis attacking like mad with Danny at the spearhead of their attacks.

Then the equaliser came and who else would it be to score that all important equaliser but Danny Coolridge himself.  Then when it looked liked the game was going to go into extra time Little Vas Krisikos popped up to score the winner and give Anorthosis a 2-1 win and a semi final  place  and a game versus New Salamis on Wednesday May the 14th 2014 at 7.45pm Haringey Borough stadium, White Hart Lane, Tottenham, London N17 7JP.
