Over a hundred police officers raided a makeshift casino in the British Base area village of Trachoni late on Sunday night arresting two people.
According to state radio, the 27-year-old owner of the illegal gambling den – described by witnesses as resembling “a well-equipped casino” – and a 30-year-old bouncer were taken into custody while investigators said that it was the third time that the establishment had been raised in the last couple of years.
Around 120 SBA police officers took part in the raid in which they seized 18 roulette, Black Jack and poker tables, 60 laptops, seven slot machines, 120 luxury chairs, 40 CCTV cameras and between 2,000 and 3,000 playing chips.
