Cypriot Paralympic gold medalist Karolina Pelendritou set a new world record on Friday for the 200m breaststroke at the IDM Berlin 2014, the International Idm Schwimmen Meeting for swimmers with an impairment.
Pelendritou, who is visually impaired, clocked in 2:50:01, which is a new world record in the SB 12 category.
The IDM is one of the top events in the world and is considered a `dress rehearsal` for the European Swimming Championship in the Summer, where Pelendritou will defend her European Champion title.
Over the weekend, Pelendritou will be competing in the 50m and 100m breaststroke.
