Tourist arrivals in March 2014 recorded a decrease of 16.3% compared to March 2013, the Cyprus Tourism Organisation says, noting that this decrease was mainly due to the fact that last year the Catholic Easter was celebrated in March, while this year it is in April.

A CTO press release notes that based on the data published by the Cyprus Statistical Service, the number of tourists from the UK recorded a decrease of 22.5%, Germany 41,5%, Greece, 12.6% and Scandinavian countries 15.8%, on average.

Despite that, arrivals from Russia recorded an increase of 5.8%, France 51.3% and the Ukraine of 389%.
