Thursday 24th  April 2014  Essex  Senior League

Five first half goals settled what was Borough’s 19th game undefeated.      The visitors never really threatened the Borough goal  and with Anthony McDonald and Daniel Aristidou proving too much of a handful down the flanks chances galore were created with Darrell Cox and Dean Fenton taking it in turns to find the net beginning with a Cox effort in the 9th minute.  Three quick goals in the 18th, 23rd and 25th minutes settled the game and when Cox completed his hat-trick in the 39th minute that was Borough’s 100th League goal of the season.    The second half was a repeat of Tuesdays anti-climax with Borough creating but wasting a succession of fine chances while Ashley Harris never looked like conceding.   The win sets up a thrilling climax to the season with Borough needing to win their last game against Takeley on Saturday to be champions in the in the event that Great Wakering Rovers fail to win at Basildon United.
