Borough reversed their recent trend and scored all their goals in the second half.   They should have been ahead by the interval but the finishing was not up to the standard of some promising approach play.  Takeley rarely threatened but ‘keeper Ashley Harris was called on for one vital contribution midway through the half when he pushed away a close range header.     Darrell Cox scored with a spectacular hook on the turn into the top corner two minutes into the second half and a more relaxed Borough then dictated play for the rest of the match with Cox completing his second hat-trick in three days with more straightforward finishes in the 61st and 70th minutes.   With the job done Borough played “keep ball” for much of the later stages with their own goal never looking under threat and their fifth consecutive clean sheet was secured.   The match was their 15th successive victory and was enough to hold on to second place on goal difference over Enfield (1893).   Great Wakering Rovers held on to the top spot as expected with a comfortable 4-1 win at Basildon United.
