A 47-year-old man is facing criminal charges after being caught in possession of a knife and air gun while driving more than four times over the limit.
According to the police, the driver was flagged down by traffic officers in Paralimni at around 10.20 pm on Thursday and ordered to take a breath test. The motorist registered 99mg over the allowed limit of 22mg. A search of the suspect uncovered an air powered pistol, a 7.5 cm blade, three firecrackers and several shotgun cartridges. The suspect was changed and released to appear before Famagusta District Court at a later date.
