Limassol has been named as one of the world’s top 20 places for the good life by the Daily Telegraph, as part of an international feature on property around the world.

“Cyprus is still in the doldrums, but the glimmer of good news is Limassol,” says Louise Reynolds of Property Venture.

“Café society in Cyprus’ biggest city has continued to flourish, despite turbulent economic times. Real culture vultures might wish to look elsewhere, but for sea, sunshine and delicious local cuisine, Cyprus looks an excellent deal for a lifestyle investment,” she continues.

According to the article, a one-bedroom apartment, 15 minutes from the centre of Limassol costs £105,000 with Property Venture.

The Telegraph’s number one is Andalusia Spain, followed by Gascony France, Bansko Bulgaria, Parma Italy and Paris France in the first five rankings.

Limassol came in at number 20, after Bavaria Germany.

Also included in the list of 20 hotspots were Grenada, Tokyo, Courchevel, Brittany, Morocco, Barbados, Sweden, Amsterdam, Tuscany Italy, Porto, Dublin, Hong Kong and Budapest.

The only glitch to the Telegraph’s write-up was the fact that the section on Limassol was illustrated by a picture of Paphos harbour and that Limassol is in fact Cyprus’ second-biggest city.
