President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades and the Government deplore the Armenian genocide and support the efforts of the Armenians for worldwide recognition of the genocide.
In a written statement on the occasion of the anniversary of the Armenian genocide, Government Spokesman Nicos Christodoulides says that `this crime is a stigma in the history of humankind` and that Cyprus was one of the first countries to recognise the genocide.
He adds that the President and the Government express their solidarity with the Armenian people and support efforts for the worldwide recognition of the genocide
