The car of a Greek diplomat serving in Berlin, Germany has been completely destroyed in an arson attack by unknown parties.

According to German newspapers Die Welt and Der Tagesspiegel the attack took place early on Thursday. There were no reported injuries, although the vehicle, which was parked in front of the residence of the Greek embassy in western Berlin was obliterated. German police authorities are investigating whether there was a political motive.

In 2012, unknown attackers torched a car belonging to Greece’s military attaché in the German capital. The Greek Embassy stated that the car had diplomatic plates and was parked outside the apartment of the attaché, who wasn’t in town.
