A group of Ukrainians living in Cyprus staged Sunday a peaceful protest outside the premises of the Russian Embassy, in Nicosia.

They protested Russian military intervention in the Crimea.

Protesters were holding Ukrainian, Cypriot and EU flags and banners and shouted slogans against Russian military action in their country. “Putin, hands off Ukraine”, “Stop Russian aggression” and “1974-Cyprus, 2014-Ukraine”, read some of the banners.

They expressed grave concern with regard to developments in the Ukraine, saying they want no interference from Russia in their country.

Police officers patrolled the area discretely
