Reports in the Turkish Cypriot media claim that rock band Deep Purple have announced a concert at Near East University in the occupied part of  Cyprus, scheduled for 24th of May,. It has been reported that “100,000 people are expected to come to Cyprus for the concert, especially from Turkey. A large open field venue which can host 100,000 people is being built by the Near East University.

Deep Purple have appeared twice before in the Republic of Cyprus but not in the occupied part of Cyprus.

” In the past  Jennifer Lopez cancelled concerts in the occupied part of Cyprus after learning about the political situation in Cyprus.
