EasyJet founder Stelios Haji-Ioannou is to launch a new online property venture, initially aimed at shaking up the UK lettings market.

Haji-Ioannou says easyProperty will overhaul the “time consuming, stressful and… expensive” business of moving home.

On a new website – easyproperty.com – Haji-Ioannou adds: “In true ‘easy’ style we are going to shake up the UK property market to make buying, selling, renting and letting simple, quick and cost effective. This is what we do best!”

The new online property platform will be launching “in the very near future”, and promises to make property transactions straightforward, putting pressure on existing agents by “aggressively” slashing estate agency fees.

The new venture is a partnership between Haji-Ioannou property entrepreneur Robert Ellice, who claims to have 20 years experience in the residential property market.

The move into property comes after Haji-Ioannou successfully launched his low-cost airline in 1995, followed by easyCar.com, easyHotel.com and easyBus.co.uk.

All display the easyJet Group branding of garish, bright orange logos and colour schemes.

A PR expert told PR Week that the launch of easyProperty would focus on “landlords and city dwellers”.
