Haringey police are appealing for two women to come forward who witnessed an unprovoked assault on a pensioner.

The 67-year-old man was standing at a bus stop in Tottenham High Road outside Seven Sisters Road at 0330 hrs on Saturday, 22 March, when he was assaulted.

He was making his way home from a family gathering and was knocked to the ground by a man who then kicked and punched him in the head several times.

The incident was captured on CCTV and police are urging two women standing at the bus stop to come forward.

Officers were called to the scene after being alerted CCTV operatives who saw the attack on camera.

London Ambulance Service also attended the scene of assault. He was taken to a north London hospital with facial and head injuries. He has since been discharged.

They were both white and believed to be in their early teens or 20s. The bus stop location was outside Seven Sisters Underground Station for routes N73, 149, 243, N279, N76.

CCTV shows the pair witnessing the attack. When officers arrived they were not at the scene.
