Enosis Neon Paralimni is mourning the death of former goalkeeper Petar Milosevski who was killed a car crash in his home country of FYROM late on Thursday night.
The 41-year-old Milosevski, who made 131 appearances for the Paralimni club between 2005 and 2015, was driving back from a charity function when the accident occurred just outside the capital Skopje. According to media reports in the country, Milosevski – who is the Technical Director of the country’s football association – was inside a car that collided head on with a van.
The FA’s chairman Ilco Gjorgjioski and another man, who were also in the car, suffered injuries and are currently being treated in hospital in the country’s capital.
Milosevski has been described by former teammates at Paralimni as “a wonderful person” and a “kind-hearted man” while relegation battlers Paralimni also sent out condolences.
“This is very difficult to contemplate”, read a club announcement. “Our beloved friend, a man with a big heart and never without a smile, a man who truly loved our club and would phone us every day to see how we are doing and to encourage us, has left this world and left football an emptier place.
“Enosis Neon Paralimni FC expresses its deepest grief for the unfortunate loss of our long-serving goalkeeper and offers its sincerest condolences to his family. Fair well friend Petar. Rest in peace.”
Former teammate, Sion and Cyprus international forward Demetris Christofi, took to Facebook to express his condolences having played with Milosevski between 2007 and 2008. “A great player, a great person, a great heart. A massive loss. Farewell dear friend…”
Milosevski began his career with FYROM side Pelister in 1994 before switching to Vardar and then moving to Turkey where he spent seven years playing for Trabzonspor, Malatyaspor and Sebatspor before finally moving to Paralimni in 2005 where he played until he retired in 2012.
Milosevski had been in frequent contact with Enosis since retiring in 2012 and even helped facilitate the transfer of FYROM forward Besart Ibraimi to the club during the January transfer window
