A hooded man carrying a gun robbed a betting shop in Limassol late on Saturday night.
Police said the man had entered the betting shop and forced the woman employee to hand over the money in the cash register. There was no immediate information as to how muchg was taken. Police spokesman Andreas Angelides said the perpetrator was wearing a hood over his head and gloves. Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 39 year old who has still not been apprehended.
In another incident in Limassol, a 51 year old woman was accosted by three hooded men as she parked her car about 10 minutes after midnight near the block of flats where she lives and, threatening her with a knife, took her bag and fled. The bag was found 50 metres away from where the incident took place. The woman said €230 was missing from her bag. Angelides said there was a description of two of the three men, who he said were Cypriot.
