Three men were remanded for eight days in custody on Monday on suspicion of attempting to traffic 1 kg of cocaine.
According to the police, the suspects aged 27, 20 and 20 were arrested in a village in the costal town on Sunday evening.
Officers, acting on a tip-off, attempted to intercept a car driven by the 27-year-old suspect. The driver fled the scene and was spotted throwing a package out of his car window which was later found to contain cocaine. He abandoned his vehicle and got into another car occupied by the two other suspects. The car was eventually cut off in the centre of Limassol and the suspects apprehended. A knuckle duster and a can of Mace were also found in the vehicle.
