First Division
New Salamis 0 Aradippou 0
Aradippou pulled off the surprise of the day by drawing with title challengers New Salamis, Aradippou were well marshalled by their manager Marcel and they played a very defensive game even without their goal keeper as a result they had to play their on field player Tasos and still kept the red’s at bay.
New Salamis just could not get into their normal game they were trying to break down the Aradippou defence but with no avail they tried very hard looking for holes but Aradippou were very patient and disciplined and even created a couple of good chances on the break, a great team performance.
New Salamis created chances but their finishing was very poor they are still in with an opportunity for the championship but it’s very important they beat the title favourites Tripimeni this Sunday if they are to keep their championship momentum.
Cetinkaya Cinar 1 Omonia 0
A close encounter was expected and the outcome in the end proved that both teams have improved in recent weeks.
The best chances in the first half fell to Cinar and especially Ade Kelani who wasted 3 good chances, especially the chance after 30 minutes when he rounded the keeper only to shoot wide.
Both teams pressed forward for a goal in the second half and in the 69th minute a speculative shot by Salih Karakis from 20 yards bounced off the keepers body and into the net to put Cinar 1-0 up.
Chances were limited in the last 15 minutes, with both defences playing a big part. A massive 3 points for Cetinkaya Cinar who are now unbeaten since manager Ahmet Sadi has returned from illness.
Second Division
Asha 4 KLN 3
What an exciting game this was it started by being hyped from the first second when KLN began pushing Asha and on the 14th minute they were awarded a penalty which they missed and 2 minutes later Asha went ahead with a KLN own goal
KLN equalised on the 21st minute with Chris Papacosta then Asha made it 2-1 from a Andreas Vazanias free kick. The second half Asha increased their lead to 3-1 when from a corner when Chris Berties scored. KLN pulled one back with Ryan Whelan to make it 3-2 from an Asha blunder.
What a fight back when KLN made it 3-3 after a Zack Charilaou penalty as a result the Asha goalkeeper was sent off after receiving two yellow cards.
On field player Chris went into goal and scored the most amazing goal right at the end of the game and fitting for such an exciting game when with a long goal kick it went over the opposing KLN keeper to give Asha a 4-3 win.
Achna 1 Brotherhood 4
Brotherhood are back in the first division after this very convincing win over Achna who are still in contention for promotion.
Brotherhood have only lost one game this season and that was against Achna. Brotherhood have done really well with the management team of George Demetriou and Akis Kyriakou with Aaron Kennedy banging in the goals and Paul Yiannakas really standing out.
In this particular game with the score 4-1 it would seem to have been an easy game for Brotherhood it was not so Brotherhood led from the 25th minute with Aaron Kennedy Achna equalised in the 70th minute with Lenos Christodoulou but straight from the kick off Brotherhood took the lead again with a wonder goal from Aaron Kennedy who lobbed the ball over the Achna’s goal keeper from the half way line. Five minutes later Glen added a third for Brotherhood and with five minutes to go Mark Doyle scored to give Brotherhood a 4-1 win.
