The body of a scuba diver, believed to be a British man, was retrieved from the Zenobia wreck off the coast of Larnaca on Thursday.
Police investigations into the circumstances of the tragedy began after the diver was rushed to Larnaca General Hospital where doctor’s determined he was dead.
The ship sank 34 years ago and has become Cyprus’ best-known scuba diving site attracting thousands of local and foreign scuba divers per year.
Thursday’s diving casualty is the sixth connected to the sunken vessel.
