A police officer has been arrested on suspicion of corruption and accepting bribes.
According to the police, the officer was placed under investigation after the owner of a betting shop in Paphos claimed he paid him €6,200 in exchange for alerting him prior to anti-gambling raids on his establishment. The officer has been suspended from duty pending the outcome of the probe.
