Cyprus missing persons an issue

The major humanitarian issue of the investigation into the fate of the missing persons is a top priority for the President and his Government, Deputy Government Spokesman Victoras Papadopoulos has said in a written statement.

Papadopoulos says that “President Anastasiades and his government wish to express thanks to Mr. Theophilos Theophilou, who submitted his resignation for personal reasons as representative of the Greek Cypriot community in the CMP in early March, for his services to the Committee”.

“The Government attaches great importance to the work and services of the CMP and will continue to provide its maximum support to the work and the efforts made by the Office of the Representative of the Greek Cypriot side at the CMP,” he adds.

He concluded by saying that “for the President of the Republic and the Government, the major humanitarian issue of the investigation into the fate of our missing persons is a top priority and every effort is being made towards this direction”
