More than 100 of Enfield’s best and brightest secondary school students received awards for their achievements.

One hundred and thirty seven teenagers from 21 secondary schools won prizes at the Jack Petchey Foundation Achievement Awards, held at the Millfield Theatre on Tuesday, March 4, and Wednesday, March 5.

The winners, who are all aged between 11 and 25, received medallions to go with their framed certificate and a cheque for £200.

They were nominated by their peers and leaders, winning awards for a variety of achievements but mostly for doing their best.

Chris showed a great attitude towards his push for a position on the student youth parliament in Enfield.

Although he did not win, he showed grace in finishing second for the Enfield position and always has a smile on his face.

Six adults who demonstrated an “outstanding” ability to motivate young people were celebrated with Leader Awards.

They too received a medallion and a framed certificate.

Mayor of Enfield Councillor Chaudhury Anwar said: “A wonderful event. Congratulations to the winners and many thanks to all involved for your help and support.

“They provide a great platform for our young people to be recognised for their work.”

The Jack Petchey Foundation has awarded £995,000 to youth organisations in Enfield since funding started in 2005.
