Police appeal for witnesses to M25 fire death between Potters Bar and Enfield
Police are appealing for witnesses after a 60-year-old lorry driver died when his lorry overturned and caught fire on the M25 tuesday afternoon in an incident between Potters Bar and Enfield.
Police have said at this stage it is believed that the lorry exited at the slip road and struck the nearside barrier before overturning. No other vehicles were involved.
The lorry then caught fire.
Six fire engines and 35 firefighters were called to the scene at the clockwise section between junction 24 and 25 of the London Orbital at around 12.15pm.
The blaze, which destroyed part of the lorry’s cab, was under control in under three hours.
Paramedics attended but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will be held at Haringey Mortuary on Friday 1 November.
