Men hurt in Cyprus rescue bid

Three men were injured Friday as they tried to rescue a drowning Russian tourist in the sea off Chlorakas.
The tourist had only arrived in Cyprus on Wednesday.
The alarm was raised as it became clear the man was in difficulties and the three men set off in a boat in rough seas. All three were hurt in the rescue attempt and received treatment at Paphos General Hospital.
The beach is officially designated as dangerous and signs have been posted in various languages.
There have been a number of fatal incidents there in recent years.
